Listener-Part-Time Wow! The very best type of ‘Space Ambient’. The radio traffic is brilliant. If more artists do stuff like this with radio traffic and the accompanying beat I’d buy it already. Favorite track: Intervals \\.

mudshrimpmoe This definitely spans sub-genres, with some pretty standard dark ambient tones in the first tune evolving into soothing space ambient pads in the latter two. The NASA transmissions sometimes take center stage. This is a good release, that rewards repeated listens. Favorite track: Contentment \\.

L.Tech "Steps." is a brilliant album containing the actual astronauts' transmissions from NASA's Space Shuttle Discovery STS-51-A mission which was launched into outer space on November 8, 1984.

Set to Melanohelios' outstanding original music, the astronauts' transmissions are dramatic and breathtaking, showing the amazement and wonder of space exploration.

Highest rating for this stunning release!

Headphones recommended.

Steps. tells the story of the crew of STS-51-A. (The second flight of Space Shuttle Discovery). The crew was comprised of Frederick H. Hauck, David M. Walker, Joseph P. Allen, Anna L. Fisher and Dale A. Gardner. 51-A's mission was to deploy two communications satellites and retrieve two others. Steps. follows the mission from launch to landing and everything in between. Featuring a "lighter" sound Steps. attempts to capture the magnificence of what the crew accomplished while still trying to keep a dark feel.
